Africa's Dark Sects

A book title Jackson Elias requested from Miriam Atwright at Widener Library, Harvard, prior to his death.   The investigators have not obtained a copy.
According to Miriam, the book disappeared from the library prior to Jackson's request. The circumstances were odd as the book was found missing as researchers were checking the area because of an odd smell like overheated electrical wires and petrichor. She informed them this was something of a disaster because only around twenty copies of the book still existed. Most had been sought out by church authorities and destroyed.

Historical Details

Background

Written by explorer Nigel Blackwell during his travels across Africa, the book is an odd mix of travelogue and exposé of the ritual practices of a variety of African cults. Although the notes of his travels were obviously turned into a book, no publisher is listed on the title page, and Blackwell is impossible to track down. Some believe the book may have been written under a pseudonym, but there are no candidates as to the real author if that is the case. Only 13 copies are known to exist—the authorities managed to burn the rest.
