The Vault in Volk
Purpose / Function
Vaults of Raxos Mir act as Banks, Casinos and Market places all at the same time. This may seem strange to outsiders but to the citizens of Volk and anywhere else with a Vault, you never have to worry about being unsafe when taking your goods or services here.
Architecture
The structure itself is a brutalist but ornate building with the sharp shapes of the architecture gilded with brass art deco like designs. Stained glass depictions of the Golden Face of Raxos Mir himself adorn the face of the temple. Kinda like a magical super church. Inside is a labyrinth of store fronts and tight streets kept orderly and busy by the Sons of the Coin, a knightly order dedicated to Raxos himself. At the center of the labyrinth is the Vault, which petitioners can come seeking loans with incredible interest rates but guarantees on returns as long as they don't look to hard as to what happens to their competition.
History
When the Fanagar Family took over after the fall of House Yon, there was potential for the Coastal Trio of cities to secede from Barony rule. However, the collectors of Raxos Mir came to Douglas Senior and offered to halt the secession with trade deals making Volk the new connection on the route from the Sahansi Clans to the Sea. This made the Cities south rely on Volk and kept the Barony intact. Thus, the Vault was installed beneath the city and has been filling ever sense.
