[SCENE] JUDE HAS APPEARED UNDER WATER, IN A SEASCAPE. THE WATER IS GREEN WITH SWIRLING LIGHT IN SMALL EDDIES, THAT APPEAR RANDOMLY. SHE IS IN THE ELEMENTAL PLANE OF WATER AND MORE SPECIFICALLY, IN THE ‘MURKY DEPTHS’, THE HOME OF BLIBDOOLPOOLP OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE SEA MOTHER.
[DIRECTION] JUDE IS SOMEWHAT SURPRISED BY THE DISPLACEMENT, THEN IRRITATED THAT HER ARMOUR IS WET AND THEN SURPRISED AGAIN THAT SHE CAN BREATHE AT ALL. SHE IS THANKFUL TO THE WIZARD FOR HIS SENSE OF SELF-PRESERVATION, THAT THIS TIME, BENEFITTED HER. JUDE LOOKS UP TO SEE BLIBDOOLPOOLP HERSELF BEFORE HER.
[SCENE] BLIBDOOLPOOLP IS A COMPLETELY NAKED HUMAN WITH SOME MINOR MODIFICATIONS. HER HEAD IS THAT OF A LOBSTER, SHE HAS LOBSTER CLAWS FOR HANDS AND SHE STANDS NEARLY TWENTY FEET TALL. SURROUNDING HER ARE GIANT CRUSTACEANS OF VARIOUS TYPES. SHE MOVES SLIGHTLY WITH A CURRENT IN THE WATER BUT NO OTHER MOVEMENT IS DISCERNIBLE.
[ACTION]
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: Welcome creature of the Earth.
JUDE: Greetings, oh great Sea Mother. I have paid my respects at your shrine, made personal sacrifices. Thank you for letting me into your presence.
[DIRECTION] IT IS CLEAR THAT JUDE CANNOT REMEMBER BLIBDOOLPOOLP’S REAL NAME, LET ALONE PRONOUNCE IT. FOR JUDE, SHE WAS QUITE SMOOTH AT BYPASSING THAT FACT.
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: We acknowledge your gifts of blood and treasure. Even if given insincerely, but what gives you the right to slay my pilgrims let alone touch my holy statue in my Kuo Tuan Shrine?
JUDE: Not altogether insincerely Lady of the Deep, I did so knowing that my ultimate goal was to meet you, oh mighty Sea Mother. Yes, I am a cleric of Lathander, but my respect for all gods and goddesses is well known and I wish to pay my respects as I am in your lands. I firmly believe that us mere mortals should pay respects where they are earnt.
JUDE: As to slaying your devotees, we were defending ourselves but once we were in your shrine we respected the ways of the Kuo Tua and shed no blood.
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: You must make atonement for slaying my pilgrims, human! I care not for your reasons only the death you have wrought. My people are mighty but few, every Kuo Tuan life is special to me. They are my people and I love them.
[DIRECTION] THE WATER BEGINS TO BOIL AROUND BLIBDOOLPOOLP AND RED FLECKS MAR THE GREEN LIGHT IN THE WATER. THIS IS THE ONLY OUTWARD SIGN THAT BLIBDOOLPOOLP ISN’T HAPPY AT ALL WITH JUDE.
JUDE: I understand there is no love lost between your people and the Drow, the dark elves. We believe those despicable creatures are up to no good and that might cause harm to the Kuo Tua. We have already slain many Drow and their allies. They appear to worship the Spider Queen, Lolth. Therefore, the Drow care not about your shrine and pay no respects as I and my band members have. Perhaps the group I am with could offer continued information on the plans of the Drow?
[DIRECTION] JUDE BECOMES AWARE THAT SHE MIGHT BE OVERSTEPPING THE MARK, BY TELLING BLIBDOOLPOOLP WHAT TO THINK AND DO. AND STILL CANNOT REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE DEITY IN FRONT OF HER.
JUDE: But please, I shall not presume to know your mind wondrous Sea Mother. I merely seek to find something worthy of your greatness
[DIRECTION] THE WATERS CALM, BACK TO THEIR PREVIOUS LEVEL OF SWIRLING EDDIES OF GREEN LIGHT.
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: I have knowledge of your exploits against our former allies. It amuses me to see what calamity you have brought to them. There is no love lost between us, since the days when we dwelt in the open ocean and swam under the light stars. But they are strong and my people are dying
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: You may perform a small task for me, to atone for your sins. A shoal of my elite spies is in the Great Vault of the Drow. They have information valuable to the Kuo Tua, but are in danger of capture. It is not easy for my people to pass undetected.
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: Find them, and bring them safely out of the Vault. Failing that, bring me the information they have. Their captain is Ssecurthrus. But be warned, the Drow have eyes everywhere. You have been followed by a Shadowsword ever since you attacked the Drow. Right back at their first checkpoint. They wait for their moment to strike.
BLIBDOOLPOOLP: Be vigilant. Trust no one.
JUDE: I hear you great Sea Mother. I agree to the task and also, I thank you for informing me about the Shadowsword. We were unaware of their presence. We will rescue your elite squad if they still live.
JUDE: May I respectfully ask if I can return to the material plane to start the mission? Thank you for allowing one such as me into your presence.
[SCENE] JUDE SUDDENLY REAPPEARS AT THE FOOT OF THE STATUE IN THE KUO TUAN SHRINE
[DIRECTION] JUDE SUFFERS A MOMENT OF VERTIGO BEFORE FINDING HER EQUILIBRIUM. SHE FEEL DIFFERENT SOMEHOW, SOMETHING SHE CANNOT PUT HER FINGER ON, JUST AN ODDNESS. SHE GLANCES AROUND TO SEE HER COMPATRIOTS ON THE FAR SHORE, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ZIGGURAT, JUST WHERE SHE LEFT THEM.
