Gashanian Guilds

The Guilds of Gashain is a founding Estate of the Republic of Gashain and though the second smallest by voting bloc, holds its own through vast wealth and by being the most fluid of any of the estates. The only requirement for joining the Estate is to be an active member of a Gashanian Guild and to reject your previous Estate. This means that at any time the Estate can comprise long-standing owning class families, lesser Nobles working a trade, ascendant Populace, and retired or cycling Military members. As a smaller Estate the ratio of Speakers to voters is small and each Speaker only represents around 17000 citizens compared to the Military Estate where each Speaker represents close to 34 thousand. 

As a business and artisan Estate, the priorities of Guild Speakers vary from labor issues for journeymen and apprentices, to international trade policy with Guild leaders and business owners. Guild Speakers currently enjoy 6 out of 21 seats on the Presidium.
