Synopsis:

Master horseman, Henrik of Rickenvatten, finds himself in the foreign imperial palace of Chienhu. A stranger in a strange land. His skills brought him under the scrutiny of the Grand Secretary and the admiration of Princess Jing. His only hope is to keep his fugitive past hidden while trying to break the curse plaguing his future.

Inspiration:

The Infinite Monkeys Chapter of the League of Utah Writers hosted a contest where authors were inpired by one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac. "The Maiden's Request" was inspired by Virgo, the Maiden.

Awards:

"The Maiden's Request" received Second Place in the 2018 New Writer: Fiction category of the League of Utah Writers Creative Writing Contest.
