But when the fighting against the Shadow died down, and the Illinar did not provide the salvation that the people expected, they were treated as normal.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Illinar see humans as people to shepherd, but not as equals. They see gnomes and halflings indifferently, and they see elves as equals. There is some tension between the Arsaki and Illinar, as the Illinar are distrustful of the Arsaki, and the Arsaki are wary of the Illinar.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Illinar glow with an unearthly radiance. This does not give them a disadvantage when hiding, but rather requires a close inspection to see. Illinar can adjust this light, making it brighter or softer as they wish. The energy provided to make the light is provided by caloric intake, so when an Illinar glows brighter, they need to eat more.
Illinar also have geometric patterns on their hands. These patterns vary only slightly from person to person. They are made of golden light that streams up the hand from the fingertips. The lines meet at the wrist, traveling up each arm before fading away at about the elbow.
