Structure

The government of mankind that spans across the county of Gedic. Each large city-state is established as a principality that elect senators who in turn elect the leader or Rex Humane for the next five years. The current leader is Octive Rex Humane.
Each city-state elects a senator who in turn will travel to the Capitol to oversee law and order. They empower magistrates to travel and enforce these laws and in turn the Republic flourishes.

History

After the Green Tide had been quelled by the allied races the tribes of mankind chose to stay aligned to fight off all other threats. With the small tribes working together instead of against each other they soon began to thrive and grow.

It was this seemingly unchecked progress that eventually drew the ire of the elves though the original tribes of man had grown into much larger cities by then. The Expansion war began with the elves first to attack. But even with the Dwarves allying with the Elves the forces of mankind drew together under the banner of a single leader, Rex Primus who banded together all the tribes of mankind on the continent. After the Expansion war had been won the true beginning rule of the humanity had begun. They offered Primus the title of Emperor but he turned it down stating mankind did not need an emperor. Instead he took the title of first among man or Rex Humane and offered to lead till humanity became too complaisant. He built the principles of law and order within five years and established the magistrates before he gathered the leader of each town and had them elect the second Rex Humane. Some say Rex Primus left to explore the rest of Gedic but none saw nor heard from him after he stepped down.

The second Rex Humana Ceconas built the port city of Galenyrae and created the system of government that would eventually become the Senate to keep the Rex Humana and magistrates in check. The Senate would craft the rules, the Rex Humana would turn the rules to law, and the magistrates would enforce the law. Every five years Ceconas stepped down only to be elected two more times. After his fifteenth year as Rex Humane he had the senate create a law that the leader of man could hold their title for more than three terms, for as Primus said mankind did not need an emperor.

After the Rex Tertona came the fourth Rex Regulus who moved the capitol to Gedros making it the prime location for travel, communication and correspondence through out the kingdom, while it grew it could not match Galenyrae.
