Tradition
It's Lorokite tradition for their youth to go through two seasons of changes and challenges that will prepare them for the life at Lorokite. As boys have to prove themselves in their skills and capabilities, girls are given the test of proving their skills and character. Over a five year period, starting at the age of fourteen, the girl's will be given the responsibility of raising two h'tontusk piglets. She will be expected to care for them for two years; feeding it, cleaning it, tending to it when it's sick. At the end of the two year mark she will pick one to butcher and prep for the ceremonial meal, and one to train for a beast of burden. Her desicions will be based on the factors of the personality and temperment of the animal.
First Season
The first season test is at the two year mark, normally at the age of sixteen. The girl is to butcher and prep the meat of the h'tontusk that was chosen for the ceremonial meal. She will clean and prep the meat for the ceremonial meal and she will cook and serve to her family. Her character will be reflected in the care for the animal while it was alive and through the process of processing the animal for consumption and how the meal is prepped. This tradition symbolizes the woman capability to care for those who are meek and feed those who are in her care.
The h'tontusk that was chosen to be used for the ceremonial meal is bathed before it is killed and then it will be prepped for cooking. The girl will prep a special herb blend that is of seven unique spices that represent each of the First Ones, the base of it being the representation of the Lorokite diety, Torros. The girl will spend seven days total in prepping and roasting the h'tontusk for the meal that will signify the first season completed and she will then serve it to her family clan.
The second season test consists of the continual care and training of the second h'tontusk. The animal will through a dramatic growth spurt, which is common for the species. After the h'tontusk reaches its adult height between 6 to 8 months, the girl will then start its full training to become a beast of burden, learning to take a rider, carrying packs and supplies, and pulling carts. The training period is three years. The girls success for this second season is determined by the animals temperment and skills that they have been trained in.
