Appearance

The male armored wolf are thick boned and welled muscled. Part of their namesake, they have thick, hard callus-like skin that forms the ‘armor’. Their ‘armor’ covers their shoulders, legs, back(spine), back of neck, head and hips. With their stocky built and muscle their greatest strength is their strength and weight which makes them like a mini tank. Not much can stop them, but their endurance and speed is limited compared to the females.
The female counterpart is relatively smaller than that of the males. They are more fined boned and well-muscled as well. They are slimmer and their legs are longer, which gives them the gift of speed which the males lack and they have ‘armor’ on their legs and spine but not the full armor and weight of the males which also the speed only the females have a acidic bite that can dissolve about anything.

Social

2 to 4 pups are born into a litter. The pups are born with velvety soft fur except where their armor will form. These patches are hairless. The pups are born blind and are weaned within two weeks and don’t leave the den until a month after birth. Their armor starts to form and thicken within the first 2 years of their life.

Once the pups reach maturity at the age of 5 they can decide whether to stay with their family pack or go out and have a family of their own. Armored Wolves mate for life and have their own family. For the pups that stay in family pack is allowed to mate also and the next strongest mating pair will gain leadership of the pack after the passing of the parents. If there are two or more siblings after the parents have passed that have mates the strong mated pair will chase them off from the pack but will allow the other non – mated siblings to stay until they have a mate and will chase them off as well. Since the packs do not grow substantially they normally don’t go out and look for a fight but would guard their territory furiously and if they need to enlarge their territory or move they are a force to be reckon with when in battle.
