Khui (Kh-un)

Khui is a deity primarily worshipped as a deity of agriculture, fertility, and life. The Cult of Khui works to control the flow of rivers and promote good agricultural practices.

Where the Cult Thrives

Khui is worshiped almost exclusively within the Atarsid Isles as a deity of the rivers that sustain the peoples.

Tenets of the Faith

Khui is one of the most important deities within the Atun-huni Pantheon. As the annual floods bring water and life to their surroundings, so too is Khui believed to have brought all life to Runetalras. The arrival of the annual floods is said to be the coming of Khui, since these floods make the lands fertile Khui is a deity of agriculture, fertility, and life. The Cult of Khui works spells and rituals to steady, maintain, and control the flow of the rivers that are required to keep the peoples of the Atarsid Isles alive. The Cult performs a ritual which has become a holiday, to toss coins, jewellery, or gems into the River when the annual flood arrives. The Cult work to teach the process of irrigation and other agricultural good practice, they officiate marriages, help with fertility. They also oppose destructive force and those antithetical to life.

Temples

There are a great number of temples to Khui throughout the Atarsid Isles, and they tend to be built near rivers and the oceans. They are as grand as the temples to Horra, as Khui is the second most important member of the Atun-huni Pantheon.

Priests

The priests of Khui work to teach the process of irrigation and other agricultural good practices, officiate marriages, and help with fertility. They also oppose destructive forces and those antithetical to life.

Depictions of the Deity

Khui is depicted as an androgynous humanoid with teal skin, often accompanied by crocodiles and other creatures of the water. They are often depicted riding a ceremonial boat and handing out or pouring foodstuffs out of amphora.

Factions

The Tide Masters are a religious order dedicated to the deity Khui. The Tide Masters are tasked with protecting the rivers and seas of the Atarsid Isles from any threats that may endanger the water supply and the people who depend on it.
