Vegathusund (Longbow)

Sculpted by the hand of Stormfather Strondmaurr at the end of the Doom of Breath, the bow named Vegathusund, the Bow of a Thousand Deaths, is said to contain primeval elemental energies stolen from the bones of his enemies in a time when the heavens shook with thunder.

Dormant.

• The attuned may use this weapon to cast the Absorb Elements spell at first level, but only for electric type damage, as a reaction. They may apply this damage to a ranged weapon attack.

• The user may cast the Gust cantrip through this weapon.

• When the attuned hits an enemy using an arrow fired from this weapon, the target suffers an additional 1d4 thunder damage. Any enemy adjacent to the target at this time must make a DC13 CON saving throw, or suffer 1d4 thunder damage.

Awakened - In addition to the previous

• This weapon no longer requires ammunition. If no arrow is used, the base damage type of the attack is electric.

• Wielder receives +1 to attack rolls with this weapon.

• Additional on-hit thunder damage increased to 2d4. Any enemy adjacent to the target at this time must make a DC16 CON saving throw, or suffer 2d4 thunder damage. If a creature suffers thunder damage from this weapon, they suffer an equal amount of electric damage.

• The wielder is resistant to thunder damage.

• The attuned may use this weapon to cast the Featherfall spell at 4th level, without expending a spell slot, once per short rest.

Exalted - In addition to the previous

• Wielder receives +2 to attack rolls with this weapon

• Additional on-hit thunder damage increased to 4d4. Any enemy within 10ft of the target at this time must make a DC19 CON saving throw, or suffer 4d4 thunder damage. If a creature suffers thunder damage from this weapon, they suffer an equal amount of electric damage.

• The wielder is resistant to electric and thunder damage, and their attacks ignore the resistances of the target.

• The attuned can use this weapon to cast Investiture of Wind without expending a spell slot one per day
