The Fate Plane

The Fated Plane lies at the outermost regions of its planisphere, connected innately with the Dream and Arcana planes, and it is known by a host of names that fail completely to understand its nature.   To understand the nature of the Fated Plane, one must understand its role as a guiding light for the flickering shadow of reality, an inexorable record of all that exists, a state of perfection, completion, totality of an energy pattern, reflected ad infinitum through the harsh light of Fate. All things move through the Rays of Fate, each point and each moment coming to light before fading away, and then into darkness. Few things can perceive the steady light of Time, and fewer still can look upon the next moment that will come, and such creatures, the native aboleth, some sibylline fey, oracular sphinx and some erudite mortal diviners, can foresee what is to come with limited accuracy.

Aion

When the planes converged, the unchanging Fated state radiated its own Rays across the multiverse, catalysing the reflection of all things within Time and forcing energies to interact over time rather than allowing them to collide all at once. As these tides washed across the world, they formed loci as they shaped and were shaped by foreign energies, creating forces called Aions, beings that constitute significant portions of time and see to it that its domain is kept in good order.   Aions are forces that act to preserve the natural order of progression, and do not interfere with the goings on of anything within their purview, nor do they keep individual names.   Aions deploy enough of themselves to damaged timelines to complete the task of restoring the break, and as less and less power is called for, the Aions decrease in strength, becoming known as Epekh, then Aevum, then Saeculum, then Gaer, then Horah.
