Rhivane

Rhivane is the grave of nightmares. Men and elves and giants have been banishing terrible things there for as long as they've had things worth banishing. It's so cold, and so dark, and so bitterly windy that few things can survive upon the sheets of ice and banks of snow, and fewer still beneath them. It's only natural that some of them got together to try and make a home that was a little less terrible than the frigid hell they've been committed to. Having lived through one visit, I'm not sure they've achieved that, but by the nine veils, it has a certain beauty nonetheless.

Structure

Arcos

Arcos is the highest rank available to the mages of Rhivane, and it is held until mages from a rival school can wrest power away from them. The Arcos is able to give orders to the different cabals of Rhivane, ultimately guiding the attention of their people and their monsters.

Magron

Magrons are the leaders of different cabals. Each conducts a school of magic surrounding the patron of their cabal. A Magron retains power for as long as they can keep it; murder is the primary cause of advancement in the cabals. They guide cabals to deepen their understanding and abuse of their patron, extracting power without cost wherever possible.

Grimmon

Grimmons are given charge of groups of acolytes, and are able to command, educate, punish or exile them as desired. They are appointed by Magrons, and cannot be usurped, a measure decided upon to prevent death by the hands of students.

Assets

The greatest assets of Rhivane are the powers that fuel their Cabals.
  • Cabal of Winter's Voice - Prison of the Winter King
Archfae, Storm Herald, Circle of the Land (Arctic), Storm Soul   Imprisoned by Sylvari elves in response to a surge of violence on behalf of the archfae, The White Prince plots his release and the unleashing of eternal winter upon the world. The Cabal records and explores the visions, portents and powers offered by the archfae, expanding His powers of enchantment and beguiling, shamanism, and weather manipulation.
  • Cabal of Glorious Progress- Prison of Adrestia the Scarlet-Winged
Celestial, Ancestral Guardians, Hexblade   Invoked and imprisoned by an Imperial Cult of Lucerna at the peak of the Regalia, Adrestia the Scarlet-Winged, Harbinger of Revolution, delivers fiery speeches and sermons that seek to ignite the passions of all Cabalists that hear Her words, which they receive with rapt attention and care, learning to handle and project Her zeal and righteousness without allowing it to warm their cold and iron hearts. Bonding with Adrestia, but never unsealing Her, Cabalists of Glorious Progress wield celestial powers for destruction, calling on minor angelic spirits of battle and the memories of the fallen to marshal them towards their own purposes, frequently with martial weapons in hand.
  • Cabal of Truths Unending- Prison of Amnen Thethrenrast the Lich
Undying, Necromancy, Hexblade   Bane of the ancient Mannar tribes and legend to the Sylvari, a forgotten circle of powerful necromancers became liches in their pursuit to master life like their Sylvari nieghbours, wreaking destruction across the continent using early forays into the forbidden art of lichdom. Belegaunt, the reliquary turned phylactery of Amnen Thethrenrax, hangs suspended in ice in the cool chambers of the Magron, while his bones and body remain partially trapped in the dungeons below, where he imparts his diabolic instruction to the necrolytes of the Cabal he views as his own. Forgotten arts of necromancy and unlife everlasting, as well as the baleful blades of death knights, are available to students who apply themselves.
