Asaie the Mother
Asaie the Mother was a lesser deity of the primitive Amnil peoples of ancient Amnillion, a land of fertile valleys, hills and gorges long since swallowed by the ocean.
The Mother took the form of a gigantic serpent with dark scales, and she represented rivers, change and purity, and was said to represent the bond between Amnil tribes, each of which centred their cultures around the mighty Sa Has River of the region.
One significant unifying feature of Her worship was the belief that honour was dependent on tribe members bathing in fresh water as frequently as possible, at minimum once a week. This belief limited the mobility and reach of the tribes, leading to the emphasis on animal domestication in order to travel greater distances.
