The Blooming Curse

A terrible affliction that strikes those who offend the swamp’s spirit. First, come the strange dreams; visions of flowers blooming in the dark. Then moss begins to grow on their skin as it turns to bark, their hair turns to roots, and their veins turn green. By the final stage, they stand frozen, a human-shaped mass of vines and leaves, with flowers blooming where their eyes should be. The Bloomed Ones are still alive, rooted in place until you turn your eyes away from them, then they move towards you.
