House Vinum
This human family started as simple brewers, honing their craft and surviving in Krak'tex. The winery got so popular, and their wine became known worldwide, even through the war. Because of this, they became so rich that they now live in a large house and employ people to make their special wine instead of themselves.
On the surface, the wine is quite normal and made up of handpicked red wine grapes, yeast, tartaric acid and a little sulfur dioxide to keep it from spoiling. If it's being aged, then of course oak barrels are being used, which adds to the flavour.
The odd thing that's hidden in the wine is the blood of a devil. I bet you're asking, 'Where is this blood coming from?' Well, the answer to that lies with the wife of the son of the Vinums.
Derek Vinum was a good boy who grew up at the winery with his parents, Lois Vinum and Paul Vinum. They were mostly happy, other than, unfortunately, Lois couldn't have any more children, so Derek became the sole heir to the family fortune.
He watched his parents start to age as he got older and was scared to think that one day they wouldn't be around anymore. He prayed to the deities, but none answered; instead, a beautiful woman called Lilian appeared in front of him, claiming that she was his fated wife because of a deal that his family made a long time ago. Derek was so smitten with her that he didn't question it. Shortly afterwards, they were married.
It was afterwards, on their wedding night, that he learnt about the full deal that his ancestors had made and that the family wine was so good because of the devil's blood that was in it. He also learnt that a part of the deal was that his family didn't age, so his parents' ageing had all been an illusion, and they had been the ancestors that had made the deal all along since they didn't age. He was confused but also so happy that he wouldn't lose his family and would keep the wealth as long as they kept producing the wine for the people.
He is still living in blissful happiness that has never once stopped, and thought about what happens to those who drink the wine. He will do what it takes to keep his family wealthy and his wife happy.
Assets
Very large acres of land, which are mostly full of red wine grapes. They have 50 employees who live on the land with their families. They also own a large house that was built for them.
History
Lois Vinum and Paul Vinum met when they were both 25. Paul was a farmer, and Lois knew what she was getting into when she agreed to marry him after he proposed on their 5-year anniversary.
The small grape farm was struggling because the land was too dry one year and because of the start of the war. Lois also couldn't bear a child to term, and they were only getting older, so in desperation and with no sign from the deities in sight, the married couple sacrificed a goat and asked for help from anything that was listening.
Lilian appeared to answer their prayers, making the deal that she could give them what they wanted: not to age, to have a child and for the grape farm to do well. In exchange, they would add the blood she gave them to the wine, and she would marry their child. They agreed without thinking too deeply about what this meant, and slowly they saw their lives turning around.
Those who drank their wine became addicted to it, and in turn, when they died, their souls went to Lilian, whom the couple learned was a devil, but by that point they didn't care because they had a good life that they didn't want to lose.
They decided that they would wait until after the war to have a child, but Lilian, in the end, got bored with waiting, so she helped the couple sooner than they had planned.
