Rumor City

The “capital” of Rumoroé. The region does not have much of a central government, but this is where representatives from the cities meet to discuss matters of trade, travel, and other policies shared between cities.   The council has also created a large landing point for refugees here, so that struggling people have a place to live. While the people here are not all wealthy, the council makes sure to keep the residential areas in good condition, so it’s not a run-down low-income area.

Orros’ Scar

The enormous Rumor City is divided by a huge chasm that was created about 300 years go by the shifting plates. Even back then, Rumor City was a large city, so the event killed thousands of people and ruined colossal amounts of infrastructure and homes. Its official name is Rumor Chasm, but many people know it as Orros' Scar.   Eventually, the area across the chasm was rebuilt with government funding. For awhile, the original residents returned, but eventually most of them moved away. As houses were returned to the government, they were later repurposed as housing for refugees and the poor.   The chasm was simply the result of shifting plates, as was its stopping. However, when the chasm stopped dividing, the people praised Orros for saving them, and later came to believe that he blessed the bridge with his own powers to keep the land from moving. There are other legends, however. Some believe that overabundance of mining in the caverns below caused the earth to weaken and split. Others still believe the chasm to be an act of the Wardens punishing the people of Rumor City for being too closed-off, which is why they’ve been so open to helping weary refugees.   There is a unique ecosystem inside the chasm. Bats, lizards, bugs - anything that can survive in the dark along sheer cliffs. The most unique organism, and the one that excites tourists the most, are the Katavasi.

Anchor of Orros

Connecting the two sides is the legendary, enormous bridge - the Anchor of Orros. There are other bridges connecting the two sides, but this one is monumental in both size and significance. It is said to be blessed with Orros’ power to keep the two sides from drifting further apart. It also stands as a symbol of connectedness between the central part of Rumor City and the separated part.

Teleportation Terminal

Rumor City houses the only teleportation circle terminal in the continent. This magic is considered extremely risky because of certain past events where these circles were hijacked by traitors. Now, there is only one terminal in each continent. The one in Rumor City is heavily guarded at all times, far from anything important, and surrounded by layered anti-magic zones. Weapons are forbidden, as well as anything that can be identified as an arcane focus. It’s also incredibly expensive because of how exclusive it is, fluctuating by hourly demand. The terminal in Rumor City links to each of the other continents.
