If you really have to cross the Salt lands, go quickly and never, ever, stop. this will make the difference between life and an agonizing death.

The vast desert is mostly made out of sand, yet some regions are different. In the land of Salt, the sun shines white, and turned the quartz into salt. What little life was in this place withered away or died there, calcified. The salt here is pervasive, and the light mineralize any living being who stays too long in place.
