Dorhast

One of the only two continents to hold the powerful frost giants of the north. It is said if you ignore the shuffling of leaves, or the caw of the raven, you can hear the angelic call of the land. Some say it is from the trees, who speak to one another through the wind on their branches. Others say it might be spirits that live in the sky or in the ice that mirrors it.  Those who live here are hardened and calloused from the harsh environment- but of course, they almost never complain.

Geography

The island of Dorhast has many nooks and crannies to explore. While their mountain ranges aren't the tallest out of the world, they are many, and enclose the cities with their sheer rocky faces. The winds are furious, cutting through young trees at their strongest. Harsh, rocky, and unlivable- just the way the Dorhastian's like it.

Fauna & Flora

Many coniferous (boreal) forests that lay on the feet of the mountains, tipped with snow and ice that weighs down their branches. Their trunks are thick and as unrelenting as iron, resembling most of the people that live among them. Moss and only the toughest herbs survive in the crevices- maybe if you're lucky you'll find a flower.    Animals that you could find in the area consist of rabbits, foxes, mountain goats, hawks, owls, moles, weasels, wolves, moose, deer, and even bears.    Other, more dangerous creatures consist of several types of giants. Of course, the aforementioned frost giant clans of Koslain, as well as the taiga giantswho live amongst the forests alone rather than in groups. Dire wolves are also known to roam the land, often grouping up with regular wolves during the harsh winter. Great snowy beasts that snatch men from their horses hide in the clouds, the largest said to be able to pick up cows or elephants (if they were around).

Natural Resources

Many natural metals reside in the northeastern Brimshalls, though they are partly untouched due to the harsh environment as well as the frost giant clans that protect them. Alternatively, the animals that live in the area have great qualities to them- such as goats for their milk or foxes for their pelts. Because of this, many people survive off the land and preserve the pre-existing gifts of nature's beauty.
