"Rose's Thorn" - Session 6

Thursday, little more than a week from Halloween. After class, the changelings are approached by Sheila "Lucky" Kerrigan - a squire of House Leanhaun who is looking for someone who knows the area, specifically where the freeholds and trods are. See, there's an artifact hidden in the Dreaming that she means to get back and she'll happily pay a dross each to the children for their help. She clearly looks down on them a bit, being the oldest and most experienced out of all of them. She even boasts that she's killed a dragon! Though if the changelings probe a bit deeper, they'll find that that is a slight exaggeration. Her lady was the one to land the killing blow, but Lucky is not incorrect that she has a bit of claim to the hunt. Just... she didn't actually slay a dragon. Bringing the children along, they traverse along the Dreaming until they come to a large door with an inscription:"Time existed before me, but history can only begin after my creation."There is a quill sitting besides it, and if they attempt to write with it, a spectral, shimmering ink will write upon the door - this is, of course, the answer: "writing." Lucky is no good at puzzles and will get impatient eventually, suggesting they knock down the door. It is a Strength + Athletics or Melee check, difficulty 8, but it can be done, and there is no penalty. Entering into this library space, there will be a slight scuffle with the Rats of the library - seven of them, to be exact - then they will come to the vault. Here there will be another puzzle. A series of cubbies, with little diamond shaped stones that each have a number inscribed on them. Some already have been placed, and they cannot be removed: 8 _ _ 9 1 _ _ _ 2 _ This is, of course, just the numbers listed in alphabetical order. 8549176320 After entering through here, the final battle will commence against the Wildwood Hydra!
