Session 32: Exploring the Tomb
General Summary
The Vandals of Fate continue forward searching the tomb, as they enter the next room they find themselves in an area with 3 doors. It becomes quickly apparent that the room is riddled with wind and gas traps. Elora quickly disables them all. While she does this the rest of the group notices the footsteps of an average adult Human male who has passed through the room quite recently these footsteps lead through the southern door. As the Ratcatchers follow these tracks it leads them heading left at an intersection leading them into a large room with a checkered floor. There is also two raised platforms on the north and south walls each with a door. The tracks lead up the stairs and towards the south. The Ratcatchers do check the northern doors and on the other side they find a room packed full of expensive loot.
As they travel through the south door they round the corner and find stairs that lead down quite a ways. With the tracks going in this direction our Ratcatchers continue their exploration. As they reach the bottom of the stairs they are met face to face with a large spider like creature. It greats our Ratcatchers and wishes for parley. The Vandals agreeing speak to the creature, they learn it has since taken up as guardian of this tomb and a few days prior a creature that referred to itself as Marquis stole a key of somesorts from the tomb. The spider like creature wants it returned. The spider like creature points towards the northern doorway and says to follow the river of blood, as the Marquis of the river went that way. Our Ratcatchers agree to help this creature out.
As they travel through the door they find themselves at a decrypted bridge that crosses a river stained red, most likely from an iron deposit. As they travel across the bridge they are attacked by a group of Xorn that quickly attack the Ratcatchers. However despite the resistances of the Xorn who proved to be resistant or immune to what our Ratcatchers through at them quickly are cut down. They continue to explore deciding to enter the river and follow it downstream. They quickly find themselves approaching a waterfall. Luckily they find a dry ledge and with a lot of luck, teamwork, and effort they all manage to make it onto the dry piece of land before going over the waterfall. As they explore this long hallway they find themselves in a room where a large energy ball of light has captured Allustan. Fedi quickly works out the fastest way to free Allustan would be to destroy the metal spike in the ceiling that seems to be powering this forcefield. Destroying it with a couple of firebolts our Ratcatchers move into the room. Once they heal Allustan of his serious and major wounds, he quickly regains consciousness. He is quite happy to see our Ratcatchers and everyone spends the next couple of hours resting and bringing each other up to speed on what everyone has been doing as of late. Now with an extra wizard in tow with the Vandals of Fate. They must find this stolen key.
