Session 24: Zyrxog's Domain

General Summary

The Ratcatchers begin their battle against the Naga, the battle is quick and decisive with our Ratcatcher's easily able to kill her. The Ratcatcher's then explore the area, checking the water. Here they find a small stash of coin and valuables that were being kept by the Naga. The group adds this to their pockets. Our Ratcatchers continue their way into the caves searching for the Mindflayer and his lair, they however manage to run into a group of Drow. These Drow quickly attack our Ratcatchers but are quickly killed as Fedi bring's her magic upon them. As well in this room are a group of humanoids being guarded by a group of Zombies. Kal quickly dispatches them with his magics while Koris speaks to the humanoids. The Ratcatchers learn that these humanoids were captured days ago and were apart of a trade convoy that had entered Cloudbreach. They were being kept for unknown reasons but they were being fed proper. Our Ratcatchers look them over to ensure they are not doppelgangers and let them run to safety.
Our Ratcatchers continue to push their way further into the fungal caverns when they come across a large marble double doors with purple material strewn throughout it. However as they step closer the group is attacked by a group of Octopins. An aberration of an octopus that has been genetically modified. The Ratcatchers have very little trouble fighting them off. As they head through the double doors they come across a large brain. This brain is made of marble and has pulsating purple veins running through it. The brain is quite magical as it attempts to brainwash our Ratcatchers! Fedi falls for the brainwashing and begins to attack her friends. Realizing this our Ratcatchers destroy the giant stone brain before it can turn everyone against each other.
As the Ratcatchers travel up the stairs they find themselves in a laboratory of sorts. Inside it are alchemical equipment and a small library. As well as a large vat that contains a large Octopin. This Octopin attacks our Ratcatchers, however they have very little difficulty in defeating the aberration. The Ratcatchers then head through the door before checking out the stairs. Through the room they end up finding a large pool of water and the arcane casters quickly realize this is a scrying pool. Seeing nothing of value here they move on back towards the stairs. As they ascend the stairs they find themselves in some sorts of curated museum. In the center of the room is a statue of a Vrock waiting to strike. The party looks through the room and Fedi with her curious nature can't help but grab a voodoo doll in her exact image. This awakens the Vrock. Fedi quickly twirls around and blasts it in a single strike and defeating it. The group grabs a few more items that might be of interest and move on.
The next room they find themselves face to face with Zyrxog the Mindflayer that has been trying to kill them since they had arrived in Cloudbreach. The battle is difficult and Zyrxog proves to be a powerful psionic. However with the teamwork of our Ratcatchers they manage to kill the Mindflayer. When they search Zyrxog's personal abode. The Ratcatchers learn that Zyrxog is just a part of the grander conspiracy against them. They learn that Loris Raknian, the director of the Cloudbreach Arena has paid Zyrxog to assassinate our Ratcatchers. As well that he had purchased an item known as the Apostolic Scrolls. Now the Ratcatcher's must investigate Loris, and figure out why he wants our Ratcatchers dead.
