Session 01 "The Whispering Cairn

General Summary

The party meets up at The Yard a local mine office just on the outskirts of Cragmire. Here they will set off to The Whispering Cairn in hopes of striking rich so they can have a better lot in life. After the party introduces themselves once more they set out to the Cairn only 10 minutes away within the Cairn Hills. Arriving at The Whispering Cairn they clear the entrance, tie down the donkey and begin their travel into the dark cairn. Inside they find the remains of a bedroll. Further in they find a strange piece of art reminiscent of a nobleman's mirror except broken in half. They find strange black rocks around the area and the party is able to determine that they would have some value to the right buyer.   Across from this passage is a second passage however it is filled with collapsed debris going from floor to ceiling. It would take weeks to even attempt to clear this passage out. With this the party pushes north. Here Fedi Kita is attacked by wolves who come out of a rocky den. The party is quickly able to kill them however Fedi Kita and Nad'ia Jus Zerp'ant are wounded. While they treat their wounds the rest of the party searches the area. Karakis Weltamo, and Aodhan Dhubhghaiesse search the area finding a fancy Indigo Lantern along with a bag of more loot worth selling. Lizette Daelynn stands guard during this. Karakis and Aodhan concentrate their efforts to the next hallway and here they find a painting depicting seven lanterns each colored in this order clockwise, the colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.   The party, now healed, decided to push further into the Cairn hoping to find that big score. After setting alight a passage filled with spiderwebs and thousands upon countless thousands of spiders, they take the stone steps that head down into a tomb with seven short tunnels leading off the central area. At the end of each tunnel is a colored lantern matching the painting earlier. However the indigo and red lanterns appear to be missing. The group puts the indigo lantern to match the picture but nothing happens. As they study the room further they realize the central sarcophagus can actually rotate. They rotate it a full 360 degrees however nothing happens. They then decide to rotate it much slower so it points down each passage. The first tunnel they point down (yellow) a large rumbling is heard beneath their feet. At the end of the yellow lantern chamber a large metal cylinder comes out of the floor and doors open revealing a small room. The party decides to enter this new room. Once they do the doors close and it begins to descend.     Once it stops the party steps out of the newly opened doors only to find themselves in a new location. Before them a large stone, the party manages to move this but in doing so sets off a trap the stone had been sitting on. The room fills with gas however it seems to have lost its potency as it only really causes some fatigue to Nad'ia. The group heads through the passage behind the stone. They have a run in with a strange creature of two eyeballs tied together by a fleshy stalk. Nad'ia's zombie wolves rip into it tearing it to shreds while Fedi Kita's Ice Bolt finishes it off.   The group continues forward into the darkness; they come across a room with a large stone pillar in the middle of the room. Here they find a Masonry's Workshop, a fountain filled with putrid water, as well as a ransacked bedroom. Thinking nothing else of note was found Lizette spots something out of the corner of her eye underneath another large stone. With the help of the entire party lifting they manage to pull out a corpse. On its crushed person, a Chain Shirt of +1, in the bag is a Wand of Shatter, a Wand of Summon Ally, and Eye Goggles of Minute Seeing. They quickly divide the items amongst themselves as needed. Now the question remains what else is down here?
