Piagre

Piagre is the wasteland that was the site of the training accident of 1989.

History

The Grand Symphony's Poe Conductor was interested in obtaining a backup to the glass stage that is used for all official performances. He commissioned the engineer's guild to design a replacement for the glass stage that would be able to use in case the glass stage was ever damaged. The engineers attempted to build something of similar dimensions with a hushstone core and gilt plating like many of the smaller performance stages that are used throughout the Idran empire. Unfortunately, this was not enough sound proofing for the likes of the Grand Symphony.   The symphony used for the training exercise was of normal destructive capacity, but it ended up obliterating all the plant life, pock-marking the ground, and destroying most of the fauna in the area. It was worse than a natural wildfire because the soil was disrupted and much of the carbon in the area was destroyed instead of being recycled back into the ecosystem. The area remains a barren wasteland to this day with only the smallest lichen and plants starting to grow into the area 30 years later.

Geography

Piagre is located to the northwest of Oja. It used to be a large and beautiful mountain meadow with rolling grasslands and abundant wildflowers. Since the training accident, it is a desolate wasteland with scarce plants and frequent rocky outcroppings. The gentle roll of the landscape was chopped to bits and allowed to resettle into a maze of rocks and rents in the ground. There are no trees, no grasses, no wildflowers that survived or have managed to regrow in the 30 years since the land was desolated.

Fauna & Flora

A few isolated lichen and small plants have begun to grow on the landscape. The only animal life are occasional insects that can survive in these barren lands.
