Soshi Illusionist School

The Soshi Illusionist School is the School of whispers and shadows. 'Subtlety' is the key word for these elusive men and women as they go about their tasks. Even their rituals and religious duties as Shugenja tend to be far more understated, though they are no less faithfully executed. When the Scorpion require spiritual aid in the high courts, their subtle invocations and keen understanding of the kami allows them to work unheard and unseen. They may spend 1 Willpower/Void Point to establish that something in the area is an illusion they crafted. This can be a person, object, or general phenomena. If the roll is successful, they can reveal that the subject in question is merely an illusion and has been for at least a few moments. If they fail, it is clear the character did not think of setting up the illusion beforehand, and is subject to potential ridicule. The difficulty of the roll is proportional to how plausible the illusion is.

The Kami's Whispers (School Ability): While you are channeling or performing an invocations, characters with a vigilance score equal to or less than your School Rank plus one cannot detect any physical or verbal signs that you are invoking spirits. This does not prevent them from observing effects of the actual invocation.
