Soul Canyon
Soul Canyon is a deep and seemingly endless chasm of sorrow, stretching for miles across the Shadowfell’s bleak landscape. The walls of the canyon are marked by faintly glowing, ghostly imprints, believed to be the faces of the dead. These spectral visages flicker in and out of existence, shifting expressions of agony, rage, and despair. Some travelers claim they have seen their own reflection in the rock, momentarily appearing before vanishing back into the stone.
The canyon floor is shrouded in a thick, pale mist, which carries the whispers of the lost souls trapped within its depths. Those who breathe in the mist too deeply report hearing distant voices calling their names, pleading, bargaining, or even taunting them. At night, blue-white wraithlights float above the canyon, drifting lazily like fireflies. Some claim these lights are remnants of souls who never found rest, while others believe they are lures used by unseen creatures that dwell below
The Silent Drop – A sheer cliffside where no sound can be made, even by the loudest scream or the hardest impact. Those who fall here vanish without a trace. The Steps of Regret – A winding staircase carved into the canyon wall. Each step forces those who climb it to relive painful memories, growing heavier with each ascent. The Phantom Bridge – An ancient bridge that appears only when the moon of the Shadowfell is highest in the sky. Crossing it is said to reveal one’s fate
