Retribution
General Summary
Motivated by the injustices committed by Gorem Handrik and his thugs, Thane Boykos draws his dagger on an unsuspecting guard in a secluded tunnel of Brimstone Hollow, wounding him superficially in his side. This transgression is met with swift retaliation, as the guard bludgeons Thane in the side of the head with their mace, rendering him unconscious. After little struggle, his companion xgBoost Protocol v28.7.2 flees the scene and Thane's unconscious body is restrained by the wounded guard, following behind. As Boost meets with and alerts the rest of his companions in the chamber ahead, the guards catch up and a fight ensues. A whirring of gears alarm the guards, as Boost's chest cavity slowly open's up and prepares for an attack. Meanwhile, Frostwarden takes the offensive against the guards while Gupogis Turgido is able to stabilize Thane back to health. Finally, Boost unleashes his attack, killing the guards - but not before one of them radios for backup on an Imperial Communicator, which Gupogis is able to steal. A brief moment to loot the bodies, before the party disposes of them in a nearby sulfur pool. While searching the bodies, Thane discovers a note that details a mutiny among Handrik's men, as well as mention of two buried guns to be used for an uprising, hidden somewhere within the mine. Suddenly, Overseer Gorem Handrik himself enters the chamber accompanied by 6 guards armed with crossbows - the party is clearly outnumbered. Handrik and his men order the party to surrender, and sentence them as well as any nearby Indents to three days in "the Pit". After removing the part of the note about the guns, Thane throws the note he found at Handrik's feet, a desperate attempt for him to read it as they're escorted to the pit by his men. Handrik accuses him of deception, though after appealing to his sense of reason, Thane can sense a growing paranoia in him despite what he says. Either way, there is no convincing him of your innocence - the party is headed into the Pit.
