Ember Tears
Description:
The Ember Tears are small golden fires hidden around the world of Terrus. They cannot be extinguished and do not require fuel to burn, though if given fuel they will grow or shrink to the amount of fuel given. While most of the Ember Tears were created at Clotho's ascension to godhood, one single Tear exisited in the world prior, hidden away in the village of Sanctus. The heads of the Angios family, Daisy and Tarragon, used the fire to learn of the goddess's existence and gain immortality. When the xxxx-xxxx family arrived in Sanctus in the year xxxx, that Tear was sealed in the temple and the people forbidden from using it again.USE:
If someone touches this fire, they will receive both power and knowledge beyond their current ability. As an action, you touch the fire, taking 2d6 magical fire damage. At DM's discrecion, you may focus on a question that needs to be answered, or you can simply let fate decide what information you are given. You also receive power related to this information, usually in the form of a permanent status effect or a magic weapon. (If you use the fire again you do not gain more power, only more knowledge.) After using the fire, you cannot reattempt until the next day. If you touch the fire again before that time you take 1d4 nonmagical fire damage. When you attempt to use the fire again, you must pass a DC 20 luck roll or wait another 24 hours to retry. (If you fail you only take the 1d4 damage.) If you succeed this roll on 3 separate occasions, you must roll a second luck roll, and if you roll a 1 the 2d6 fire damage is permanently removed from your HP and cannot be healed.Users:
