Interlude - Dash
General Summary
Dash continued on from Malea, eastward into Semang, wisely bypassing the swampland at the
border, where the fort from The Deck was located. Everywhere he travelled, he saw Rodinian
changes to his homeland which greatly infuriated him though he kept a calm outward demeanour.
He was given a huge welcome when he reached his tribal homeland, it had been so long ago hed
been enslaved and taken away, there was a lot of catching up to do.
The tribal elders were summoned and Dash told all he had learned of the Rodinian oppressors
from his time spent amongst them. He regaled them with tales of his escapades in the gladiatorial
arena, the tombs of former emperors, the ruined temple of elemental evil and the Underdark. He
told of the Deck of Many Things and how it had granted a fort, which could form a base of power,
reinforced by his status as Gladiator Champion and citizen of Rodinia. He described the cult of
Elemental Evil, the cosmic threat of Tharizdun, and why he must face the terrible dangers of the
Underdark.
Dashs immediate goal was reclamation of the Decks keep. His tribe were unable to assist
directly with this, the Rodinians would no doubt object to a large, armed force traversing the land.
However, once the fort was taken and claimed by Dash, his tribesfolk could slowly but steadily
populate it, travelling in small numbers at a time. They could oversee its restoration and
reinforcement when it became necessary for Dash to enter the Underdark.
Dash was renowned as an archer. One of the tribal elders came to speak to him privately. He told
of a primordial tree dating back to the dawn of creation, known as the Silver Yew, whose root
passages yet entwined sporadically within the Underdark. In very rare spots, pieces of root wood
remain embedded. If properly harvested, they can be used to craft magical bows of incredible
potency and desire, though it requires an extremely talented bowyer to achieve.
After sufficient time spent with his tribe, it was time for Dash to rejoin his Nex Pervenio
colleagues back in Malea.
