The Fenfield Dragon
The Ancient One
One may think the Fenfield a dangerous location, and they would be correct. The geography actively tries to murder anything too weak to defend itself from the toxic atmosphere, autonomous plants and multiplicity of mutated predators. But nothing stands for the rebellion of nature in the Rocpocalypse quite like the Fenfield Dragon.
The dragon has only been sighted on a few occasions. Witnesses describe it as a living mountain, nearly 100 feet tall and three times as long, covered in vegetation ranging from moss and vines to entire trees. It doesn't resemble a traditional dragon; it's not lizardlike, it has no wings. It would more accurately be described as a chimera, many different living creatures plants and fungi make up the body of the dragon. Every movement made by the dragon seems to be facilitated by the millions of organisms that live within and upon it.
Every living creature that makes up the dragon work together to move the beast and consume its surroundings. Swarms of insects drone around the body, enveloping and paralyzing prey with their various offensive mechanisms. The plants form a protective carapace of thick bark, thorns, and stone picked up along the way. Witnesses recount an awful stench surrounding the dragon, probably from decaying flesh within it used to feed the various scavenging decomposers inside it.
It is unclear whether the Fenfield Dragon is itself a single organism surrounded by millions of symbiotic relationships, or if it is just a mass of interconnecting habitats uprooted by the devastation of the Rocpocalypse, and the specific harsh contamination of the Fenfield. The most common theory is that the dragon contains a core of ancient fungus that became sentient at the end of the world, and has decided to restore natural order by disrupting everything created by humanity.
