Swamp Mutants

Beneath the surface of the marshy waters of Pitts North stir formless abominations, eager to snatch up any unaware fisherman or woman who is unfortunate to cross their path. Many of these monsters have been observed to lurk near Shame Place.   Gnashing claws, foot long jaws, crablike armor, tentacles, fins, scales. The mutants under the water are all unique, each one a nightmarish mashup of every kind of aquatic animal anyone could dream up and worse. It is not entirely known where the mutants come from, or how some of them can even survive as they do not all appear to have mouths. Their mysterious origins may have something to do with the rituals conducted in Shame Place, as one source notes that the rate of swamp mutant attacks went up significantly after one of the ritual nights.   The mutants do not appear to have any rational motivation other than survival. They are extremely aggressive and will attack anything they can sense. It is wise to stay perfectly still if you realize there is one nearby, and pray they will pass.
