At first glance, Jive appears as an outlandishly jolly soul despite the current circumstances the world is in. They are definitely one of the more aloof fellows you’ll ever encounter here. It’s almost as if they have a hop in their step, as if they were jiving along to a soundtrack that only they could hear. Jive has a slight head twitch that occurs whenever Moondrops are mentioned. Because of this, their neck is constantly sore and red.
Jive works in Bau Haus as your friendly neighborhood librarian. They are one of the few that work there 24/7. They have no other hobbies or favorite pastimes, just Jive and the books. And boy, do they love their books. They are one of the most respected employees there for their dedication and knowledge. They know the layout of Bau Haus like the back of their hand despite not being a Chosen One.
Jive has grown to be incredibly obsessive over the artifacts, to the point of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. It’s almost as if they’ve confused their sense of self with the physical artifacts themselves, as if they were an extension of their very being. All of the documents, all of the historical artifacts, everything has to be just perfect. The pages have to be straight, the spines have to be upright, the artifacts can’t have a single speck of dust on them… If any of the artifacts are damaged, Jive’s entire face will contort and they’ll succumb to a twitching spree until the color of their face matches the color of their neck. To Jive, it’s almost as if you’ve damaged an integral part of themself, a direct personal attack.
After the twitching subsides, Jive puddles into an emotional wreck. Launching between feelings of immense depression and self-loathing to incredible fury and anger resulting in catastrophic physical reactions. They’ll claw at their own face for a moment then suddenly rush the offender with a viper grip around the neck, slowly suffocating them out while tears of sorrow for the damaged goods stream down their face.
Truly, a person that takes great pride and an incredible level of seriousness in their job.
