Flying Fish

The Irondequoit Bay between the Web and Irene's Decoy remains one of the most popular fishing areas in the rocpocalypse. However, due to a recent maelstrom mutation, it now stands as one of the most dangerous. Although it's an uncommon sight, unlucky fishers may encounter a swarm of malicious 'flying' fish. These fish move as a locust-like unit. They were born from a deep whirl pool caused by the maelstrom and have been terrorizing the surrounding area ever since. They operate and look similar to a normal flying fish but with the ability to go higher and farther for a longer period of time. They still can only stay in the air for a few minutes, but their speed can make for reaching far distances. Their wings create an X shape intersecting their bodies when looking at them directly. These wings doubly act as a defensive weapon against fishers. If you are caught in a swarm be prepared to be sliced up by the extremely sharp and scaly wings. After a few minutes the swarm will be forced to dive back into the stream of water and stay for a while before they're able to jump again. Ironically, many fishermen are attracted to these swarms as the reward is as high as the risk. Defeating a swarm would reel in a very hefty load of food compared to normal fishing. Even warriors are often attracted to these fights because they believe they're more equipped for it and it's an easy way to get food.
