Brainalization Beam Projector

The Brainilization Beam Projector (BBP) is a weapon invented by a mad genius brainer to destroy his enemies and absorb the contents of their consciousness at the same time. An older prototype simply scanned the brains of whatever it was pointed at. After analyzing the contents of his enemies minds, the inventor was able to know their every move and counter it. He became bored with just the knowledge of every moment of his victims lives, and decided to amp the device up to a more violent level.
Victims hit by the Brainalization Beam are first scanned by the beam, then their body temperature begins to increase at an exponential rate until their skin melts off and their bones burn. The process takes only a few seconds of contact with the beam, but any exposure to a human body can mutilate and usually proves fatal.
The knowledge stored within the device is as vast as the number of lives it has taken. For this reason, brainers are naturally attracted to the device, and usually end up beaming themselves to join the hive of souls within it. Before the inventor died, he scanned his own brain into the device with complete knowledge of how to operate it from within. He has become functionally immortal as long as the BBP remains intact, essentially turning it into a living weapon. Brainers wielding the BBP can hear the voice of its creator and are often overcome with his violent urges.
