Flesh Golem

A sickening flesh golem built for the sole purpose of savage, relentless destruction. The monstrosity and all it’s ilk were a desperate last minute gambit to turn the tides of a losing battle. The ritual that brought out it’s existence condemned all and fused the bodies and souls of fallen allies and foes alike into this hideous flesh demon.   Now forever caked in fresh blood and free from the bonds of the masters it has slaughtered, it now hungers for more, setting off on an aimless rampage to fuel it’s never ending task of slaughter. A terrible creation of necromancy, just by looking at them, you seem to understand why manipulations with death are treated with caution.

Race traits: Variants

Flesh Golem: A Common variant of the Flesh Golgem, these ones are noted for their cadaverous flesh that bears with it a sickly green or yellowish tint. These ones also tend to have a hideous form apparently stitched together with thick string, wire, melting plating and metal staples.   Cadaver Golem These Golems are similar to and are often easily mistaken for a Flesh Golem. However what set’s this creature apart from other Flesh Golems, is the active rot that persists on tearing the creature seemingly apart. With loose plating, sagging bluish skin and flesh stripped away to expose the bone underneath, Cadaver Golem are the result of Flesh Golem not having enough to eat to sustain their form. As a result of no Necromancer to keep them in top condition, and no flesh to replenish themselves, the flesh of the creature begins to rot away revealing the discolored skeleton beneath. Starvation thus sends this creature into a pure desperate rage, in which it will stop at nothing to feast upon whatever flesh it can sink it’s teeth into. The lack of skin and added weight makes this variant much more light-weight and as a result much faster then it’s more common counterpart. They also will use their exposed bone which can usually be found on their arm’s as a shield, blocking attacks before attempting to slam the player into pasty mush. However, this also leaves the creature vulnerable, as the bone can be chipped away with attacks to the point of full arm amputation.

Race Traits

  • They are considered undead, categorized as reanimated abominations alongside skeletons and zombies.

  • Despite being labeled as “Uncommon”, Cadaver Golems are actually much more common than Flesh Golems are naturally. This is because overtime all Flesh Golems revert to Cadaver Golems, leaving very little of the other class behind. However because Flesh Golems are typically considered “Golems in their Prime” and tend to be much more stronger, the game up’s their spawn rate and lowers the Cadaver Golem spawn, who while not as strong as their counterpart, is much faster and more aggressive than their counterpart in par due to desperation.

  • Flesh Golems can spawn as Spectors, while half the strength of the original, a majority of the time the Golem will vanish only when their summoner is defeated. Because they are ghosts they take little damage from conventional weaponry; only silver/platinum deal damage to Spectors, so it’s best to try to take out the Caster as soon as you can.

Race Traits: Weaknesses

Intelligence: Lumbering Flesh Golems much like all Golems are stupid, but also brutal vicious creatures. How they are able to sustain so much body mass remains a mystery, since as they are often seen seemingly resorting to eating their incautious prey alive, they have no working digestive track or internal organs for that matter, it seems less than a need for sustenance and more so an effort to utilize the flesh to keep their massive bulk in tip-top shape.   Size: Because of their often massive size, Flesh Golems often make a nice wide target. Good thing too, because it takes a lot of hits to puncture them. In addition to making them a wide target, their size also hinder’s their speed, making them act and behave more like a tank than an agile opponent.   Aversion to Fire and Ice: Flesh burns and and Flesh freezes, regardless of whether or not it's dead, alive, or currently terrorizing a local town. As a result, Explosions and direct Fire/Ice-attacks may help in repelling this beast.

Race Traits: Strengths

Size: While size remains a hindrance, size is also a benefit. Because of their hulking bulk, Flesh Golems of any type can essentially be bullet-sponges, able to withstand loads of damage until they can be taken down.   Magic Immunity: Immunity to Paralysis, Poison, Disease, and Shock

Race Traits: ATTACKS

Slam - Flesh golems will attack by flailing their limbs with all their strength.   Berserk - After taking sufficient damage, a flesh golem will become enraged and run out of control, destroying anything in its path.
