Robe of Dismemberment

This is for all intents and purposes, a normal looking black robe trimmed in red. The robe however, has a much darker secret than it first appears. If given a closer look, one will discover that the trim has arcane symbols woven into the pattern in slightly darker shades of red. The robe is cursed with the soul of a Chain Devil living inside of it. While it cannot move on its own, those that don the robe will soon feel its effects. It will first begin to whisper into your ear dark and evil things. If you resist the whispers and reject the Chain Devil's influence, the robe grapples you from within with chains and begins to squeeze your limbs with so much force you are dismembered. However, if the wearer embraces the whispers of the Chain Devil, a symbiotic relationship is born between the two. The Chain Devil will grant powers to the wearer so long as it agrees to seek vengeance on those the devil points out.
