Idami Highfeather

Brief History

Idami was born in a large mining village, her mother died in a mining accident when Idami was young and she was raised by her father and grandmother. Her grandmother had been a teacher in a nearby town, so she saw to it that Idami had a good education. Her father was the head of the village and he taught her as much as he could about how to manage a community. He soon realised that Idami was outgrowing what he could teach her so he wrote to an old friend in the Empire capital, and before long Idami was apprenticed to the seneschal of a Baron of the Empire.
After six years the seneschal contracted a fatal illness, before he died he recommended that Idami, though young, take his place. The Baron, who greatly respected his old friend and seneschal, agreed readily and Idami served him and then his daughter after him for the next twenty years. In this time the Baron's estate had grown considerably, due in no small part to the efforts of Idami, and she caught the eye of the Imperial Court, particularly Prince Darshin, who sought her advice on matters from time to time.
In the years immediately following the last Rising, Idami proposed several successful solutions to the growing problems the Empire was facing from this latest disaster. When the Empire decided to expand Cliffport and turn it into a major port city, Prince Darshin suggested Idami be sent to oversee this expansion, and the Empress agreed. Idami has been the Mayor there for the last thirteen years, and Cliffport has become a thriving city which still continues to grow.

Appearance

Idami is a tall human woman, with a stout build and imposing presence. Her skin is dark brown, and she keeps her black, curly hair closely cropped. Most of the time she wears the robes of her office, however on social occasions she is fond of long elegant gowns in deep jeweled tones. She is a striking woman with high cheekbones, a strong chin and a stern expression.

Personality and Traits

Idami is a no nonsense woman, she despises frivolous formalities and tries to avoid them where possible. However, her years as seneschal means she is quite skilled in art of social mores, and can turn them on in the blink of an eye. She is strict but fair, and has no tolerance for those who would disrupt the safety and happiness of the citizens of her city.
