Fallen Heart

History

When the World was nothing but an empty ocean, the Heart of The God fell from above. It crashed into the ocean, causing waves and waves of water to flow outward from where it landed. These waves formed the rings that gave the world shape. When the waves stopped, the Heart was resting on top of the highest peak, able to see the whole world it had created.

The Heart began to leak separated from the body of The God, the Magic power it contained flowing down the side of the peak and into the waters of the ocean. This magic touched the world and began to change it. The winds began blowing, fire roared and earth shook, the ocean crashed and flowed, and the whole world was covered in life.

Over time, the animals with the strongest connection to the magic of the Heart found themselves changing in unexpected ways. The apes from the trees started working together. The lions of the savannah turned their roars into speech. The eagles found hands to shape the world around them. Even the smallest of creatures became anew.

Present Day

The Heart continues to pour magic into the Singing Sea, keeping the world full of magic and energy.

Those who get too close to the heart find themselves changed in irreversible manners, sometimes leading to a grim fate. This condition is known as Magical Overabundance, and has the potential to affect all life.
