Arcane Discipline

Learning the intricacies of magic is a complex process and is taught in a multitude of ways, these different ways teach not only the basics but also tricks unique to each style. These styles are referred to as arcane disciplines.   These disciplines vary greatly in how a mage typically casts their spells. For example ritualists can cast spells in a group with elevated power and scale to act as artillery in war or conjure a great rain to end a drought, while alchemists never need to make a single gesture or say a magic word if they have the right equipment and calculations.   A mage can learn multiple disciplines, but it is no easy feat. It is often compared to to learning a new language as some concepts (spells) are just harder to express in different languages (disciplines).
