Races of Light
The seven races presented here are collectively known as the civilized races or the Races of Light. These labels are based more on hubris than on any objective qualifications. Unlike many other races of Riesa, the so-called civilized races generally tolerate, trade, and respect each other.
Races of Light implies that there are also Races of Dark. While orcs, goblinoids and other humanoids are often considered uncivilized and they frequently come into conflict with the races of light, they are not typically regarded as races of the dark. Legend suggests that every race of light has its dark analogue somewhere deep in the earth. Dark skinned elves and gray skinned dwarves are but two of the most widely rumoured dangers of the deep underground.
