Radical Rule proposal - Movement

My speed is 6.   That gives me
  • 6 Singular
  • 4 Primary
  • 2 Secondary
  • My proposal, you can use the above or push your movement to full move as a secondary or primary with a target. Not sure what that target is, primary 1 die, secondary disadvantage, and if you fail, you stop at what you would have gotten plus a huge stumble check.

So, if you say Secondary move from the above. You could move 6 with maybe a 15 agility check. if you succeed, you can move the full 6". if you fil, you stop at 2" and make a 15 stumble check. The #'s i use are just examples, they can be whatever.

That's a possibility, or you could instead incur .1x1d10 fatigue, to stay in keeping with our fatigue for sprinting concept. I'd say you couldn't increase your move by more than one category.

I am not sure why we need this but I would like to hear what others have to say

I'd worry that this might make some talents extremely strong (stronger than they already are) on the right character.   That extra secondary on a swashbuckler can now be a full move, etc.

We could say that talent actions can’t be upgraded. When it says Secondary, it means Secondary. I think that should be the rule anyway.

Quote: "I am not sure why we need this but I would like to hear what others have to say"   Im not sure it makes sense you can't move your full amount...we do it because you are focusing some of your time on another action. Im suggesting a person can run full tilt while doing something else, but they may fall flat on their face though.

" Maybe .1 fatigue for every point you move above your allotted"   That makes more sense.   Like Matt said, this would envalue and devalue some talents, like Hard Charger.

I like the idea. I dont think it devalue hard charger to much because you would get fatigue and possibly fall. This is a gamble. Hard charger isn't. Swashbuckler need something anyways. But the real purpose and value to me is the possibility to speed up combat. Thats why I think we maybe playtest it to see if it works.

Instead of rolling to see if your movement fails, maybe we give a disadvantage die to the other action you're trying to do. I'm remembering some old movies I've seen where the alarm is raised and the soldier is trying to run to the wall while he's carrying his flintlock and trying to load it while he runs. in another movie, the knight is trying to strap on his sword as he runs, and it clatters to the ground just as the Saracen cavalryman was bearing down on him.
