Coat of Arms Generators
Here are a couple Coat of Arms generators. I am sure there are others out there. I would think that most of the clans should have a coat of arms, maybe even a couple (different families). I suggest you build yours and use it on your world and possibly as post icon when you are not posting for a specific character.

Are you sure a ship is a good representation of your clan? It very well could be and I guess if we restarted the game at some point you could change it if you don't have ships.
What's the significance of the red hand with the knife? (or should that be a ref to player discussion?)

I cheated. It's actually my family's coat of arms. The Gillespie family is part of the MacPherson clan. I deleted out the MacPherson name and inserted Merric.
Ships in heraldry represent either a sea-faring heritage, Adventure or Hope. Gold represents Generosity, Blue represents Strength and Loyalty. The dagger represents readiness for battle. I was hoping to find a set of scales that I could replace the cross with, since we don't have a cross in Harn. I'm still working on that. The bigger coat of arms also has a cat above the helm, and the motto "Touch not the cat but a glove", meaning "Don't touch the cat if it's claws aren't gloved (retracted)".
