The Salamander
Description
A small, indistinct, reptilian creature is wreathed in flame. A young woman is holding the conflagration in her hand while several bystanders look on in wonder.
Divinitory Meaning
Associated with Lyáhvi, pentacles, air, and/or Autumn. The Salamander stands for wonder and illusion, for mysteries that do not need solution, things which simply are and are not. In this, the salamander presents a paradoxical situation that one must own the wisdom to accept. It is not, necessarily, that things are not as they seem, but rather that they are more than they seem.
Reversed Meaning
Dreams, delusion, self-deception. These are real dangers for those who pursue false images and lost or worthless causes.
