Flab Toad
This species of large toad is common in the eastern part of the world. Their ideal habitat is the swamps and marshes in the Realms of Men, but they are very adaptable and have known to live in forests, on mountains, in caves, and even in cities.They are travelers, wandering far and wide, making their home wherever they please and leaving in the same manner. This makes them a compelling subject for observation, espicially considering their long life span, which can be over fifty years. They got their name from their interesting body structure: they always have a great deal of fat, making themselves almost as wide as they are tall, and giving them the appearance of flabbiness that is their trademark. Some people question how they are able to travel with all this ungainly weight, but it is now common knowledge that besides having the appendages of a normal toad, a Flab Toad possses two extra legs on the underside of their bodies. These are just as powerful as (and very similar to) its hind legs, and they are the reason the toad is able to leap across the country side, counting as well the amazing determination of the species to roam. Along with their other fascinating qualities, Flab Toads have a method of self defense that can only be described as sticky. They secrete and can pump from their pores a liquid, or gel, that cleaves to everything. This substance not only burns the skin, but will give a full-grown man hallucinations for a whole day. If consumed, the hallucinations will be increased sevenfold. A toad can be eaten, however, if the glands that produce the substance are carefully removed, and the meat rinsed well.
History
Some people think that this species is invasive, from the deserts in the south, and that their traveling instinct and/or a trader looking for a profit brought them to the Realms. They say that the flabbiness is a result of storing fat for when food is scarce, and the wandering an ancient technique for finding food among the sun-scorched dunes.

The longest recorded toad lived sixty-three years.

A sighting of a flab toad was remarkable in the days before the Great Fire, but when the races returned to inhabit the mainlands, the toads had spread. Now they are rampant throughout the eastern part of the world, especially around the Realms of Men. The Elves have none, and the Dwarves few, but they seem to gravitate to Men, possibly because of their scavenger habits, since Men have a similar diet and often leave scraps.
