Session 17: Death or a Better Life

General Summary

After going over their plan one more time, the party attempts to sneak into the cavern with the water pool and the bugbear guard. Mardot  and Calix do not succeed in entering stealthily leadin to Salt throwing up a Silence spell before the bugbear cna alert anyone. With a crit from Gundren's crossbow and a pommel strike by Rost, the bugbear is caught silently and with a busted shoulder. 
Returning to the barracks they rested in, the party interogates their new bugbear 'friend' Gnath. He tells them that that Gron has the map they've been making and mentions The Black Spider and the Taskmaster, another Drow with a mechanical arm and lightning whip. 
Having got the info they wanted, the party proceeds to trick Gron into coming outside so they can take the map. Calix proceeds to deal with the rest of the bugbears by using the Spell Scroll of Fireball he had. The Fireball spell ignites Magitec explosives inside the barricks leading the room to partially collapse. Rost and the rest of the party work together to bring down Gron and secure the map. Once the dust settles they retreat back to the other barricks and rest after making the scene with the bugbears look like an accident. Using the map they quickly find the Black Spiders current basecamp and prepare to open the metal doors...
