Brainstorming Warrior's Bond

A powerful mage and an equally powerful Demon found themselves entwined in battle. As the two of them fought, they both ended up falling down a great Chasm, down into the depths of the world, perhaps even to an other world. Despite both wanting the other dead, the world they landed in was far from the one they knew. Creatures neither could imagine struck fear into both. In a desperate bid, they cast their lots together, going from enemies to brothers in crisis.
Reemerging upon the surface, they had a newfound respect for each other.
It is possible the Abysgol Citadel was built off these two. Another possiblility is a connection to Darkroot, where both the Evil Demon and Good Warrior returned to the Darkroot's home and rebuilt.
Good Warrior: A powerful mage, maybe a knight, maybe a combination of both. A holy warrior to be sure.
Evil Demon: An equally powerful demon, composed of abyssal energies.
