Personal history

Abandoned as a baby, she was found by a widow who didn't have much more than a warm, dry place to rest, but took her in for a while anyway, until the widow could find a more stable family to pass the infant onto. Strangely, while taking care of the baby, the widow found it easier to...well, breathe. Move. Do tasks around her tiny house. The family taking care of the baby also found themselves in general good fortune. They joked that it was the baby's work and called her Stellius, the name of a lucky coin from an old Lost World folktale.   As Stellius grew, it took more work to keep her fed and cared for, though she was in general a strong and healthy girl. It became a town tradition to watch over her. She reached milestones early and strove for personal freedom and autonomy. She was eager to learn about the world from the many viewpoints of her broad "family" and was never inclined to manipulation or cruelty as means to an end; saying "please" and "thank 'ou" would do.   At first, the town was proud when she discovered her knack for teleny. Then her accidents and outbursts, though rare, began to grow destructive. People were hesitant to take her in, so she became a stray on the outskirts, teaching herself how to control her power and how not to use it, how to be physically strong as well as magically.   One day, she used teleny to save one of her "brothers" from being mugged, and the townspeople welcomed her back with open arms. They've had warm relations ever since.
