Anyone who was born in the Southern Floodlands is considered Jubarian, as the Kingdom of the Ruins of Jubar claims the entire S. Floodlands.

Naming Traditions

Feminine names

Feminine Jubarian names tend to end in the letters L, E, A   A character with a name that demonstrates this is Irene.   It is common to name girls after islands, plants, and water-based words.

Masculine names

Masculine Juberian names tend to end in the letters N, O, U, I   A character with a name that demonstrates this is Mazion.   It is common to name boys after the three Faregean gods, heroes from Morrow Epoch legends, and stars.

Unisex names

Unisex Juberian names tend to end with the letters S, M, T   A character with the name that demonstrates this is Stellius.

Family names

Juberians do not use family names but object-based occupational surnames: they decide on their own surnames once they decide on an occupation. The surname is generally an object associated with the occupation. This can change throughout a person's life and is not considered legally binding. If families stick together in occupations, many members will have the same surname and even give it to unworking children.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Jubarians, unsurprisingly, speak Jubarian, which is suspiciously similar to English. There is the central dialect, which is spoken in the heart of the kingdom, and the outer dialect, which is spoken mainly by rogues and nomads beyond the reach of the kingdom.
