Personal history
Irene's family has been on this land since it was first populated thousands of years ago. She actually descends from nobility; they were court entertainers of such skill and loyalty, they were considered a part of the House of Panig. Her grandfather, Alair Panig, was the only one of the family to survive the Deepening when he was only 10 years old. His survival and heritage has been a source of great pride in the family, who continues to add to and live in the house he built on forested high ground, and they continue to watch over the forest, Hagden, that sheltered him.
10 years after the Deepening, Alair married Honor, who gave birth to Kallias, who went on to marry Charis, who gave birth to Dareus, Justus, Sofus, Irene, Sawl, Fawst, and Heleer (as well as Aneas and Thaddeus, but both died young). Irene was told this story very, very often as a child and can trace her family back for several generations. They are proud to be a traditional Jubarian family, and they're giving her a lot of pressure to marry and continue that noble tradition.
As much as Irene longs for love, however, the subject of marriage and what comes next has always made her incredibly uncomfortable. One of the most important parts of her family's "noble tradition" comes from their adeptness at tempory, and Irene is one of the strongest temporists anyone has ever seen, but she's not sure how tweaking her body's natural rhythm will affect her ability to bear children, and she does not want to find out. Until she finds someone who's willing to accept that, she's perfectly content swinging at/through trees all day singing solo.
