The Second Marker in the Sea
I place this here to give you hope and a warning. You passed through the ancient enemy's powerful magic. For a time it will be satisfied to watch and wait. But know that the Plateau upon the Isle of Dread is where this affront to all that is natural dwells. If you seek the underworld, you must face the ancient enemy. Few have survived such an encounter. The islands south of here are varied and mysterious. You seek the largest and eldest of them, what the folk here call Taneroa. Go to the south of fabled Taneroa and find the village before the towering wall of wood. Beyond that wall lies the forest of ancient Kor and eventually the cursed plateau. Upon the Sea of Dread are three paths to ancient Taneroa. If you head south, never wavering in your path, you will come upon Forbidden Collasa. Continue south and you will come to the Reef of the Dead. From there, four days journey you will see the north coast of cursed Taneroa. Head to the south west from this marker and you will come to the Infernal Reef. Navigate it's treacherous waters and then head due south. The voyage is long and you may lose hope, but in time you will see the western coast of fabled Taneroa. Pass through the small island and channels and go to the southern tip to find the homes of the children of the gods. Or you may wish to avoid the Reef of the Dead. Leaving Forbidden Colossa behind, go east until you come to the coral spire. Then go due south. In time you will see the eastern coast of ancient Taneroa. No ship arrives at Taneroa unscathed. Chaos has placed a beast of great power in the waters. All paths lead to the creature, and it will attack any large vessel that passes by. It comes for food, and the folk here say a sacrifice to each head will appease it. I leave now to return to cursed Taneroa, Nace awaits. I failed the trials once. I shall not fail again. - Irev shows me light among Ashe again. She walks here, even as you read this. She is alone and afraid, but will not show it. Fire unites you. Perhaps it can heal more than flesh.Written upon then second marker in ancient Tyrian. Below the break is material written in a hasty hand but obviously matching the previous writing.
